Owing to some misunderstanding about securing the services of the Band for the celebration of the "Glorious Twelfth" the ireful manager of the Orange hall has refused to allow it to be used by the Band for practice.

As evidence of its good faith, the Orange Order would allow the citizens of Quebec to abandon June 24th and celebrate their national holiday on the Glorious Twelfth of July--the only date in the calendar worth mentioning--on the sole condition that the Quebec festival be known by its proper English name of St. John the Baptist Day.
